I'd love an SD card again. At home, I can just use SMB to access remote file systems on my phone. I can do it while mobile, but despite the gig connection, it's a bit too slow for my taste. Works for files, but it won't ever let me watch a downloaded movie on a plane or a podcast while driving across Kansas. I'd rather be able to dump 128GB on an SD card via my laptop (much faster I/O) then stick it in the phone.

I've gotten used to BT headphones, but I'd love to be able to plug in to a stereo again without a flakey Bluetooth dongle

I looked at their latest phone on their website. The specs look better than some of the other Linux manufacturers. They finally ditched the 720p display that was holding back the Pine, Jolla, and similar Linux devices for an FHD panel. I appreciate that they are differentiating on user-benefitting hardware features like swappable batteries, SD cards, and headphone jacks seems like a smart strategy as these are things mainstream manufacturers largely refuse to implement but are popular among a good chunk of users. Sure, there will be a mainstream phone with a brighter screen, faster processor, better "features", but it looks like the hardware is finally on par with the rest of the market. I'm really happy to see this!

Do you know if any organizations are coming out against it? I've been looking for a place to plug in. These people aren't my representatives, but I know people in their districts and I'm curious why now? Who asked them to do this? Why did they think during the unprecedented expansion of the surveillance state was an appropriate time to propose something like this. There are only two sponsors. I looked through other legislation they cosponsored and some of it was good, some of it was garbage, but this was among the worst. I'll try calling their numbers and send an email.

I used KDE because that's what I use on desktop. I hear some of the others are further along. Flashing was easy. I could not set up my SMB shares in dolphin and if it wont talk to my NAS, it's not terribly useful to me. I will play around some more with it sooner or later. I believe I used Android- tools on Linux to send the partitions via fastboot commands. It was a 2 gen old phone for me (had the OP9 after it) so I wasn't worried about anything going wrong. I remember my original Moto G. It was a good phone for the time. I will follow Graphene wherever they go until a Linux phone is ready.

How do you catch a wild pig? (i dont remember the source)

1. Day one: leave some rotten apples on the ground.
2. Day two: Lay some fencing on one side and leave some rotton apples out.
3. Day three, four and five: add more fencing everyday, but just leave it lying on the ground, keep leaving out apples.
4. Day six, seven, and eight: leave out apples and stand up the fences one side per day until only the gate is left.
5. Day 9: Install the gate, when the pig walks in, slam it shut.
6. Day 10: Eat schnitzel and/or bacon

I'm looking for orgs fighting the Colorado one. I got "replaced" by AI recently, so I have all the time in the world to write letters, make calls, and go to town halls. I just don't want to do it alone.

Thanks for the reality check. While this a good development, I share your concern and we should not stop,or even slow, developing any fully free as in freedom OS. I tried PostmarketOS on an old Oneplus 6T recently and I estimate we have one or two more phone replacement cycles until I think it'll be ready for me to switch.
