Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Limit of two posts per person per day.
- Bots aren't allowed.
- Banned users will have their posts removed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

"ASMR" fucking riles me up, I can't understand how that stuff is supposed to be nice. The only desire I have listening to it is to smash my fucking speakers / headphones after a short while. Imagine someone holding stuff close to your ear making obnoxious sounds, same thing.
ASMR isn't supposed to be relaxing, some people just found it relaxing and somehow that completely bastardized the genre(also it became soft core pornography). ASMR stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, basically some people get a pleasurable tingling sensation on their head/neck/spine when they hear certain sounds, and ASMR content is supposed to stimulate that response for those people.
What I don't get is that people encountered ASMR and unquestionly went "guess that's what it's called" and didn't wonder at all what the obvious acronym stood for, literally 5 seconds to Google 4 letters and you'd understand what it's all about.
I'm one of the people for whom ASMR actually works, when listening to nearly inaudible words, like when getting caressed - intimate, but not sexual. The tingling down my neck and spine is very pleasurable and relaxing, but neither erotic nor sleep inducing for me. What doesn't work for me are pure mouth sounds or other types of sounds, and it stops working after about 15-20 minutes or so.
Big same. I have never enjoyed ASMR, it's more likely to irritate me than anything else. Up-close mouth sounds make my skin crawl. The idea that ASMR sounds are "relaxing" is paradoxical to my experience. I get angry or disgusted instead.
If you also find that anger or fight-or-flight instincts are triggered by such sounds, you might have a touch of misophonia.
I have fairly severe misophonia. I wish my reaction to ASMR was this mild. I can't be in the same room or hear it at all because it literally triggers fight or flight for me and I will likely have to restrain myself before I involuntarily sprint away. The best case scenario is covering my ears blocks the sound, the worst case is I scream, beg, and cry for it to stop until it does. I fucking hate how asmr bleeds into things like ads or even movies since it makes my life he'll for a time.
